The German-based blog Medienaesthetik (Media Aesthetic) has put together a fascinating gallery of artistic interpretations of battlefield craters. These drawings are better than photos for conveying the size and nature of craters! We visited the Lochnagar Crater last month where I took multiple photos. I was dismayed to see the results - somehow they lacked the depth and scope I was going for. I guess I should've tried my hand at sketching!
