Propaganda that reached across the Atlantic. Americans of German extraction tried to counter the effect. But, question..."Who to believe?" Today with email account probes it's the same question..."Who to believe?"...'tis a different war.
Many of these stories were proven false after the war. But a great many true as Germany sought to crush all thought of resistance by the population. Sadly this still goes on today and seems to be a deliberate policy to terrorize
Remember the stories around the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait? They were taking babies out of incubators to send the equipment back to Iraq... later proved to be false. The first casualty of war is truth.
Wow. Powerful propaganda.
