Lusitania Propaganda Posters

The sinking of RMS Lusitania on 7 May 1915, was absolutely a rolling propaganda bonanza for the Allies and the pro-intervention forces in America.  These posters date from just after the sinking, to after the U.S. entry into the war, to the interwar period.

  1. The Great War's posters are certainly great pieces of art in my opinion. I have seen other fine representative posters previously presented on these pages. They never fail to capture the flavor and feel for me of the period, the melancholy of the lost innocence and the call to save the national honor, whether they were from the Entente or the Central Powers. Although the Central Powers seem to gravitate to the power and successes of their military while the Entente to the outrages of the enemy and a call to arms.
