ReplyDeleteDennis was a terrific speaker, a renowned scholar, left a great legacy, and will be missed.
ReplyDeleteI have all his books. A real loss.
ReplyDeleteOne of the greatest World War I historians has passed. A true gentleman and kind soul.
ReplyDeleteI got to see him do an entertaining Q&A session at the Pritzker Museum's "On War" symposium on November 1 (maybe his last public speaking event?). Many of the great authors are getting up there in years, so take advantage of seeing them lecture whenever possible!
