Kaiser Bill: Before and After

Here are some interesting images of Kaiser Wilhelm that we presented in our magazine Over the Top a few years ago. Nothing new here, but I think as a set they slightly broaden the stereotype portrayal of him.

  1. I wonder what he thought about the rise of Hitler and National Socialism.

  2. What happenedto his sons? Did he have six? How about his wife? Did he have a mistress?

  3. The ex-Kaiser blamed the Jews for the defeat of Germany in 1918 and congratulated Hitler on becoming Chancellor. He probably hoped to be invited back as Kaiser. Any reservations about the Nazis would only have been on the grounds of snobbery.
There's a glitch in the timeline at August 1895 "visited England for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee celebrations". In fact, the Queen's Golden Jubilee was in 1887 and the Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
