"World War I: The American Legacy" — A Beautifully Produced Documentary

As one watches this documentary, one begins to realize that the French awarded rather a lot of Croix de Guerres, in fact, over 2 million of them. Americans received over 11,000 of these. Although we didn’t have the Bronze Star until 1941, and the C de G hasn’t existed since 1945, I believe that these two awards are at a similar level. Without the “V” clasp the Bronze Star is awarded for distinguished service in a combat zone.
