"OOPS," said the editor.

Dear Readers,

I regret to report a major goof on my part.  Roads to the Great War's comments section was spam-bombed by someone who has a lot of free-time these days.  In attempting to selectively remove dozens of malicious comments, I guess I got carried away with the delete button.   I removed—forever apparently—all your comments posted between 6 April 2020 and yesterday. You can, of course, repost them if you are inclined to.  Alas.

  1. Darn. It's happened to the best of us. There is some really good stuff I have written residing in the ether somewhere - forever - that I, alas, sent there by mistake. C'est la guerre.

  2. I don’t think this was a major goof. You’re still the best editor on the internet. I’m happy the Roads site & all the archives are still around.

    I second everyone else's praise.

  4. Things happen. The problem lies with those malicious people who wish to spam an interesting and educational site such as yours. You were making an attempt to clean up the mess they made and mistakes will be made. Keep up the good work and thanks for trying to keep out the spammers.
