The National WWI Museum in Kansas City Missouri has chosen a unique and creative way to honor the Memorial's 100th anniversary and the Nation's 250th. Begun at the end of September, every weekend evening (Fri–Sun) and the six days leading up to Veterans Day the Memorial will be transformed into a canvas of light, sound, and motion. Three acclaimed artists each bring the Memorial's inscribed virtues—Honor, Courage, Sacrifice, and Patriotism—to life across an eight-to-ten-minute visual and auditory experience—Liberty's Beacon—shown throughout the evening. Below are some of the artists' creations. (Without the sound, though.)

The public is invited to gather on the North Lawn. Bring a picnic or a blanket and visit at your convenience. Return throughout the season to view all three installations. Each eight-to-ten-minute installation starts at 7:30 p.m. and repeats every 15 minutes (:00, :15, :30 and :45) until the last showing begins at 10:30 p.m.
