Weapons of War: A Variety of Tanks

Here is a little photographic feature that shows the variety of tanks that were appearing on the battlefields after the Fall of 1916. This is not a comprehensive summary, but several of the most important types are shown and it also shows German efforts in design and in the use of captured tanks.

  1. Very interesting! The French Cavalry School at Saumur (on the Loire River) has at least one of every tank produced. There are restored versions of the above tanks on display there. It is definitely worth a visit.

  2. Even the A7V? I thought only one of those still existed, in the Australian War Museum, taken there by the AIF in 1919. And even a Gun-Carrier? That would be really unique!
