The Austro-Hungarian percentage of men figure is startling. Seems like there would have been more children who lost fathers in Britain. And, 70 percent of British dead between 20 and 24 is stunning. Maybe that's why number of children losing fathers is lower than one might expect. Would have been interesting to see Austro-Hungarian and Turkish number killed. With those numbers, you could see killed ratio of Entente vs. Central Powers. Based on figures given above, we have 2m Germans vs. approximately 4.2m Entente. Of course, US figures are not given, and though not technically part of Entente, should be added. Of course, all of these data are readily available. Throw in Austro-Hungary at about 1.5m, Bulgaria at 88k and Turkey at 325k and the ratio is getting closer. But wait, there is Italy at around 460k and US at 117k which tips the scale to the Central Powers in terms killed ratio.

Only 260K horses and mules killed? Seems quite low. I think 50K died in Germany's East Africa.
