Of the living; but the dead returning lightly dance.

  2. If only they could have negotiated the end when they met. The outcome might have been better than the Versailles Treaty.

  3. JN was a heavily sugar-coated piece of unrealistic "history". Clearly Wardrobe Department had told the Directors "Don't you dare get any of our costumes dirty!" Everyone looked immaculate; I don't recall seeing a single dollop of mud (frozen or otherwise) in the entire movie. And the Producers said "It must have sex-appeal or we won't get our money back". So an opera singer gets smuggled into the front line trenches. Really? Not even disguised? And the Directors said "Well, nobody's going to know any better or care anyway, so …" And thus we ended up with JN. Not just a big waste of artificial snow, but a wasted opportunity to pay a real tribute to the triumph of humanity over blood, mud, pain and waste. A sadly D-minus movie.
